Unfortunately when using indoor gyms whilst climbing there is a risk of getting coronavirus. We have tried in all cases where possible to minimise this risk, yet reducing the chance to zero is impossible. Please take care and if you feel unsafe or uncertain, get in contact. Under the guidance of Warwick sport and the BMC, the presidents are taking on the extra role of COVID-19 officer to deal with the safe handling of the club in these times. If you have any suggestions/concerns about these measures, do not hesitate to get in contact.
What we are doing to keep you safe:
We will write COVID-19 risk assessments for each event that we run.
For each event, we will keep a record of attendees for 21 days for use in the NHS test & trace system.
Our exec will receive COVID-19 training for the delivery of lessons, to ensure that teaching is done as safely as possible.
We will be working with the wall and the BMC to ensure that we are up to date with the current advice and that the club can adapt to any changes to governmental advice.
What we expect from you at our events:
DO NOT attend if you, or someone in your household, has symptoms of COVID-19 or you have been contacted by test & trace
You must adhere to the government’s guidance at all times
Please respect the exec giving their time to try and make club hours as safe and secure as possible
If after the event you test positive for coronavirus, you MUST contact us so that we can work with test & trace to give out contact details for those on the event
The wearing of a face covering will be compulsory on transport for trips, unless you are exempt
You must not share food and drink with people from other households
When on trips, you must climb within your grade to reduce the risk of serious injury
We will try to keep this page up to date with the latest guidance from the BMC and the government, but here are a few useful links to the guidance for yourself:
